To paraphrase Thomas Paine from his book "The Age of Reason," by publishing this website I do not mean to condemn those who believe otherwise; they have the same right to their belief as I have to mine. But it is necessary to the happiness of man, that he be mentally faithful to himself. Infidelity does not consist in believing, or in disbelieving; it consists in professing to believe what he does not believe.

The Declaration of Independence does reference a "creator." However, that document was a declaration of independence by thirteen British colonies from rule by the British monarch. It was not (as some apologists claim) a founding document for our nation.
The U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are the founding documents for our nation and neither contain a reference to God or the divine. Additionally, the Preamble to the United States Constitution does not mention God or religion.
